I (Melissa, on the left) created it with my sister Marcella (on the right) and our friend Noor when we realised that:

• Plenty of eco-conscious consumers were trying to make more sustainable choices but don’t know where to find those clothes
• Sustainable brands were struggling to reach their target customers because they have smaller budgets, higher costs, and additional challenges compared to huge fast fashion companies

So, we’re now bridging that gap through Project Cece.

From vetting brands to adding handy filters and categories, we have done (and continue to do) the hard work so you don’t have to.

How to find ethical clothes on Project Cece (and support brands that really need it)

First of all, it’s not about replacing fast fashion hauls with eco-friendly options because… overconsumption is never sustainable.

So, I want to encourage you to use Project Cece to find ethical clothes you actually need, love, and can see yourself rewearing for years. 

Start by choosing your category

We have a search bar too, but in most cases, the quickest first step is to start from the type of items you’re after.

• Our main clothing categories are Women, Men, and Kids, and we have a Home and Beauty & Care section, too
• They then reveal all kinds of clear and handy sub-categories, like Clothes, Bags, and Accessories
• Once you click on one of those, you’ll get to more specific sub-categories and different types of items, like T-Shirts & Tops, Blouses & Shirts, and so on…
• Finally, for each type of item, you can narrow your focus even further, getting super specific (like Long sleeve tops or Sleeveless tops)

You can choose to focus on:

• Sale, when you’re after the best bargains
• Store location, because when you buy sustainable clothes from your own country, you reduce your environmental footprint even further (= less shipping emissions)
• Label (Fair Trade, Eco-Friendly, Produced in Europe, Good Cause, or Vegan): while most products fall within more than one, this will help you focus on what matters the most to you
• Price, to set your own budget 
• Size
• Brand, if you’d rather focus on their specific range 
• Colour 
• Store, because some platforms sometimes sell clothes made by several brands
• Certificates, to prioritise products and brands with third-party certificates to back up their sustainable claims
• Material, which is handy from both a sustainability and personal preference perspective
