Soft yellow scarf, colored with the vermilion flowers of the 'flame tree'. Handwoven from cotton and silk by women in Himalayan mountain villages
This scarf is beautifully woven with vertical bands that show a subtle open weave. This breaks the whole and gives relief to the scarf.
Natural dyesThis scarf is woven and dyed in the Dehradun region, in the Himalayan Mountains of India. Women in remote villages weave the scarves and color them with natural resources from their area.
Painted with flowers (Tesu) This scarf is dyed with so-called Tesu flowers ( Butea Monosperma ). These are the flowers of a tree native to Southeast Asia. The tree blooms from January with spectacular vermilion red and orange flowers. It is therefore also called the flame tree.
