These fairtrade scarves are skillfully hand-woven by Mayan weavers, members of the Cooperative Kem Ajachel in Guatemala. They use as main tool a backstrap-loom, natural cotton, and natural dyes extracted from barks, plants, vegetables, and flowers.

The cooperative Kem Ajachel is formed by 70 talented Mayas artisans.

Environmentally Friendly: For the wool collection Quetzal Artisan uses materials such as bamboo, alpaca wool, and organic cotton, which are spun in the Andes mountains of South America. For the Guatemalan collection, they only use natural materials such as cotton and viscose, and they paint by hand using natural paint products such as tree bark and flowers.
